Are You Treating The Problem Or The Solution?

Have you ever stopped to think about WHY your body gives you signs and symptoms?

Why does your body produce the mucous? Why does it raise you temperature? Why does it give you a pain?

These are all super important questions, because too often we dry up, numb up or shut up the body because it’s doing something we don’t like. We dont like the fleeing. We dont like the idea of having to stop.

Healing is an innate / inborn ability that the body has. It is the master healer.

Often what we perceive to be the problem, is actually the solution. It can often be the body’s HEALING that we start to attack or suppress.

Next time you FEEL unwell or have a sign or symptom that you dont like, ask the questions WHY? Why is my body doing this and what could it be asking me to do? Answering these questions may lead you to take different actions and may lead to much improved long term health results.

Some food for thought.

Do You Have A Sixth Sense?

An important aspect of health is the connection of our brain and body. The ability for our brain to know where our body is.

Imagine doing something simple like walking, without your brain knowing where your legs and arm are. Pretty tricky. This ability is known as the sixth sense, called Proprioception.

In this study, they measured the effect of a Chiropractic adjustment on the human ability to know where its body parts are. Fascinating stuff.

I'd love to know what you think.

Have You Blown A Fuse?

We've all had the experience of turning on the light switch, only to find that none of the lights come-on.

Instead of running around and checking each individual light globe, what is generally our first thought?

The fuse box! Let's check to see if the power is cut off.

I look at health the same. If we have a health challenge, a pain, a signal that our body is not working properly, I look to the fuse box - the spine. There may be other issues yet making sure the body's fuse box is in good working order is a great place to start.

Is Your Health Team Working For You?

We all experience a health crisis at some point - a broken bone, bleeding etc that requires emergency / crisis care.

Is this emergency care, that is designed to keep you alive, the same care that is required to make you healthy?

I would contend NOT. A different skill set is necessary.

I would love to hear your thoughts.

The 3 Types Of People That Choose Chiropractic Care

I am often asked WHO should see a Chiropractor. I always answer with these 3 types of people.

1. You have an immediate problem - you've got back pain, neck pain, headaches or another ailment you'd like help with.

2. You'd like to help prevent problems from occurring or recurring. You understand that a small weakness can build into a large weakness that could then become a problem and want to tackle it while it's a small issue.

3. You take a proactive approach to your health. You want everything working great - all the time, not just when things are going wrong. You place a big emphasis on performance and efficiency and you realise that having a healthy spine is important in every stage of life.

If this is you - I'd love to hear from you.

The Number One Factor That Determines Your Long Term Health

Whether it’s Back pain, neck pain, headaches or some other sign or symptom that’s getting you down. Your body’s signals are tying to tell you something and you have a choice.

You could simply get rid of the signal OR you could investigate the cause.

If you were to walk in to a dark room and wanted to find your car keys, would you…

A: Try to remove the darkness to make it easier to see OR

B: Add light to make it easier to see?

Health is no different. We spend Billions of dollars and so much time and energy studying sickness and what causes DISEASE, yet very little resources to what cause HEALTH and wellbeing. Why is this?

Changing this point of reference could be the biggest factor in determining your long term health. Enjoy.

Poor Posture and Increased Rick Of Death. Really?

In this video Dr Tony Rose from Auburn South Chiropractic reviews some research in the Journal of the AmericanGeriatric Society that investigated whether an increase in Kyphosis (rounding forward of the mid/upper back) is associated with an increased risk of death. Pretty full on I know.

We tend to play the small game regarding posture - aches, pains and aesthetics, but the picture just got a whole lot bigger. Could your posture be linked to dying earlier?

Check out the video for the details.
