Ooh, as a father, that makes me cringe. As a chiropractor, that makes me cringe even more - as a parent we look at something like that (that's my daughter having a stack there trying her backflip.) As a parent, I cringe. and I think, well, I hope she's okay. I hope she doesn't hurt herself. And then obviously she's laughing, she gets up and she's fine.
But as a chiropractor I'm looking a little deeper going, wow, I wonder if that accident, that fall and the hundreds and thousands of other falls that she's had in her life is going to cause an injury that may not actually heal properly, which then, may lead to problems down the track as an adult.
And I see it in practice every day. Adults coming in with problems that have been there for decades and not thinking about those childhood falls that we all have off bikes, learning to walk, off our scooters, learning backflips everyday.
We don't think about those injuries at the time, causing major health problems down the track.
So today's thought is the small injuries do add up to becoming big problems. So why not nip it in the bud? Why not get your spine checked?
That's why I will be adjusting Halle as soon as possible.
Until next time. Be well.
